Brenda Shanahan Brenda Shanahan - Chairman
Ms Shanahan is a finance specialist who possesses extensive marketing and promotion experience in the financial services sector. During her career Ms Shanahan has held executive roles in actuarial services, stockbroking and funds management. Ms Shanahan is currently chair of St. Vincent's Health and St. Vincent's Medical Research Institute and a non-executive director of JM Financial Group Limited. Prior to her appointment to CLIL Board Ms Shanahan was a director of Challenger Financial Services Group Limited, a position she held from November 2003 to November 2007.

Following her appointment to the CLIL Board, Ms Shanahan has also been appointed to the CLIL Audit and Compliance Committee following the resignation of Director Mr Russell Hooper from this committee.

 
Russell Hooper Russell Hooper
Mr Hooper is a director of Challenger Financial Services Group Limited, including Challenger Life, and was previously a director and Chairman of the audit committee for Commonwealth Insurance Limited, a subsidiary of the Commonwealth Bank. Mr Hooper was also Chief General Manager, Funds Management, at St.George Bank Limited and held various positions within Advance Bank Limited and St.George Bank Limited, where he was responsible for investment funds, superannuation, life insurance and ASX-listed property trusts.
 
Ian Martens Ian Martens
Mr Martens is a chartered accountant and was senior partner at BDO Chartered Accountants (SA), where he is now a consultant. Throughout his career Mr Martens has advised a broad range of public and private companies on financial measurement and reporting, strategy development and evaluation and merger and acquisitions activities. Mr Martens retired as Chairman of RAA Insurance Ltd in March 2008 and is currently a Director of RAA Investments Pty Ltd and the Royal Automobile Association of SA Inc. Mr Martens is Chairman of the CLIL Audit and Compliance Committee.
 
Ian Moore Ian Moore
Mr Moore is a non-executive director of Artesian Capital Mangement. Previously Mr Moore was Head of Corporate Finance at Bankers Trust Investment Bank where he was responsible for all forms of corporate, project and asset backed financings. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia and a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in London.
 
Geoff McWilliam Geoff McWilliam
Mr McWilliam is a director of Düsseldorf Skills Forum. For the last ten years, Mr McWilliam was Chief Executive of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia's property activities.  Prior to this, Mr McWilliam spent 23 years with Lend Lease Corporation in a variety of management roles.
 
Robert Woods Robert Woods - Executive director
Mr Woods is Chief Executive, Challenger Life at Challenger Financial Services Group Limited. His responsibilities include the management of the Direct Property, Infrastructure and Specialist Funds Management businesses within Challenger Life. Prior to joining Challenger, Mr Woods was a founder of Zurich Capital Markets Asia, where he was responsible for their alternative asset business. Prior to this, Mr Woods spent 11 years with Bankers Trust in investment banking.
 
Brendan O'Connor Brendan O'Connor - Executive director
Mr O'Connor is the Chief Financial Officer of Challenger's Asset Management division. In this role Mr O'Connor is responsible for overseeing the financial management and reporting for the Asset Management division's specialist funds, including Challenger Diversified Property Group (CDI), Challenger Kenedix Japan Trust (CKT), Challenger Wine Trust (CWT), and Challenger Infrastucture Fund (CIF). Mr O'Connor has over 13 years experience in financial services including senior finance roles within Westpac Banking Corporation.
