Entry
1. Eligibility and Entry form
Entry is open to Australian residents aged 18 years and over. To be eligible for the competition, each of these criteria must be met. Participants must complete the entry form with the required details. Only one entry per person is permitted. Any prize awarded is personal to the individual and cannot be transferred or exchanged. The entry form can be completed in one of two ways: (a) via the Challenger website or (b) via the form hosted within the Facebook app.
2. Accessing the entry form
Participants can access the entry form through the following methods:
- On the website: By visiting challenger.com.au/ausopen2026comp
- Via social media: By following links in Challenger competition posts or advertisements on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
All entry methods will direct participants to one of the two official entry forms.
3. The competition opens Monday 3 August 2026 and closes at midnight on Monday 14 September 2026 (6 weeks). All valid entries will be judged, and the final decision will be made on Friday 18 September 2026. Winners will be notified in writing using the contact details provided in the entry form. If a winner does not respond to claim their prize by Friday 25 September 2026, Challenger reserves the right to award the prize to the next best valid entry, as determined by the judging panel.
4. Entry is not open to employees or agents (and their immediate families) of Challenger Group and Challenger’s associated entities. Furthermore, entry is not open to financial advisers and their employees or agents, such as dealer group employees and their respective practices in Australia.
5. The judges may disqualify an entry by any person if, in their absolute discretion, inclusion of the entry would adversely affect public confidence in the competition or the reputation of Challenger or its associated entities. Entrants must, if requested by Challenger at any time, provide details of their identity and age.
6. To be eligible for entry, entrants must complete the competition entry form available on the Challenger website or via a form hosted on Facebook. Entrants must be over the age of 18 years and provide a valid email address and a mobile number.
7. Entrants must complete all required fields in the entry form including providing a written response in English to the competition question in 25 words or fewer, as specified in the entry form: ‘How would a guaranteed regular income for life improve your happiness in retirement?’
Prize
8. The Prize: Rory McIlroy inside-the-ropes experience
One winner will receive an experience at the capital.com Australian Open in Melbourne for themselves and one companion (the “Prize”), valued up to $8,500.
The prize includes:
- An ‘inside-the-ropes’ experience at the capital.com Australian Open at Kingston Heath Golf Club in Melbourne featuring Rory McIlroy (subject to availability) on Thursday 3 December 2026.
- Premium hospitality for two in the Trophy Club at Kingston Heath Golf Club on Thursday 3 December 2026, including food and beverages (valued at $825 per person).
- Two tickets to the capital.com Australian Open Welcome Gala dinner on Tuesday 1 December 2026.
- A round of golf for two at Victoria Golf Club on the Melbourne Sandbelt on Wednesday 2 December 2026 (course fees included), with optional golf club hire available if required (subject to availability).
- Return economy-class flights for two people from a major Australian airport to Melbourne for travel between Tuesday, 1 December 2026 and Friday, 4 December 2026, including excess baggage allowance for your golf clubs.
- Three nights’ accommodation for two people in a twin-share room at Crown Promenade Melbourne from Tuesday 1 December 2026 and Friday 4 December 2026 (or a comparable Crown hotel, subject to availability).
- Dinner for two at a Crown restaurant ($400 voucher) - restaurant to be confirmed.
- Airport and event transfers in Melbourne, provided as $600 in Uber vouchers.
The prize must be taken between Tuesday, 1 December 2026 to Friday, 4 December 2026 (inclusive), during the capital.com Australian Open in Melbourne.
Further details, including specific timing of experiences, accommodation and restaurant information, will be confirmed with the winner. The ‘inside-the-ropes' experience is subject to event scheduling, player availability and operational requirements of the tournament organisers.
9. Prize Conditions
The prize is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. If the prize or any part of it is unavailable for whatever reason, Challenger reserves the right to substitute it with another prize of comparable value. Prize values are based on the maximum estimated value of the prize components. Final prize configuration may vary depending on the winner’s requirements, provided the total prize value does not exceed the stated maximum. The winner and their companion are responsible for arranging any travel insurance they require.
Determination of winners
10. Winners will be determined by a judging panel on Friday, 18 September 2026 at Challenger’s head office, Level 2, 5 Martin Place, Sydney NSW 2000, based on the criteria of creativity, originality and relevance, as set out in Clause 13 of these Terms and Conditions. Winners will be contacted directly by a Challenger representative in writing using the contact details provided in the entry form. Winners must have provided a valid email address to claim their prize.
11. If a winner does not respond to claim their prize by Friday 25 September 2026, Challenger reserves the right to award the prize to the next best valid entry, as determined by the judging panel. Challenger may repeat this process until the prize is claimed.
12. The competition is a game of skill.
13. At the time and date specified in the ‘Entry’ section, each valid entry will be judged based on creativity, originality, and relevance as decided by a judging panel, consisting of individuals with relevant expertise and experience. Challenger may use automated tools to assist in the administration and assessment process, however final judging decisions will be made by the judging panel.
14. The winning entries will be the entries deemed the best based on the judging criteria, as determined by a judging panel.
15. The decision is final and binding, and no correspondence with entrants or any other person will be entered into. Challenger reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify entrants who do not comply with the terms, do not participate in the competition in good faith or who interfere with the entry process.
16. Challenger reserves the right to request the winning entrants to provide proof of their identity.
17. The winning answers, and last name, initial of the first name, and postcode of each winner will be published within 30 days of the winners being selected. The winners’ details will be published on Challenger’s social media platforms and on the competition entry page at challenger.com.au/ausopen2026comp. If a winner requests that their name and postcode not be published, Challenger will respect this request and ensure their details are not disclosed.
Liability
18. It is the responsibility of each entrant to notify Challenger of any change to their contact details within five (5) days.
19. No responsibility will be taken by Challenger for lost or late entries. Further, no responsibility will be taken by Challenger if a system or form glitch occurs during the submission process.
20. Challenger accepts no liability for any loss, damage or any personal injury whatsoever which is suffered or incurred by any entrant or third party (including, but not limited to, direct, indirect, incidental, punitive or consequential loss or damages) as a result of the competition or taking the prize and/or use of any element of the prize, except any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
21. Each entrant indemnifies Challenger against any losses suffered or incurred in connection with any claim which arises as a result of the entrant’s participation in the competition and taking the prize or use of any element of the prize.
22. Challenger reserves the right to vary the terms of, or cancel, the Competition at any time without liability to any entrant or other person, subject to applicable laws.
23. If for any reason any aspect of this Promotion is not capable of running as planned, including by reason of computer virus, communications network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failure, or any cause beyond the control of Challenger (the Promoter), Challenger may, in its sole discretion, cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Promotion and invalidate any affected entries, or suspend or modify a prize, subject to the State or Territory regulation.
Intellectual property and privacy
24. Challenger reserves the right to capture and use images, video or other content of the prize winner for promotional and marketing purposes, including via Challenger’s website and social media channels.
25. Challenger also reserves the right to use entrant responses (including written answers or other submitted content), without compensation, for promotional and marketing purposes, including via Challenger’s website, social media channels and other communications.
26. Personal information of entrants will be collected by Challenger, entered into a database, and used to offer products and services of Challenger, its related entities, and business partners. This may include marketing communications via email, phone, and SMS.
27. Personal information may be shared with third parties, including Golf Australia and prize delivery partners, for the purpose of administering marketing subscription databases, the promotion and fulfilling the prize.
